Master the NCLEX: Effective Coaching/Tutoring
Next Gen Pass
G. S.
This has definitely been a journey I never saw myself going through while I was in nursing school. I never imagined how difficult the NCLEX was going to be. I assumed that since I made it through nursing school as an A-B student, I wouldn’t struggle so much for the NCLEX. I couldn’t have been more wrong, and looking back, that’s probably why things happened the way they did. Before I took my first exam, I went in very comfortable, not thinking it was possible for me to fail. I ended up failing three times. Yup, I took the old NCLEX twice, and I took the new NCLEX once, all three times taking the FULL exam; all 150 questions every time. Throughout those 10 months, I did everything I could to figure it out. I used programs that “guaranteed” I would pass if I used their test-taking tricks, multiple programs, different test banks, and everything throughout those 10 months. But when I stopped to see what was actually the actual problem what my mentally towards the exam. It went from being too comfortable to having anxiety that wouldn’t let me think while taking questions. Anxiety about the future, if I was ever going to pass, what if nursing isn’t for me, if I’m not a nurse, I’m a failure; these are all thoughts that would cross my mind.
What made the difference was my tutor, Timika. Having someone to hold you accountable, hear the way you think through questions, encouraging you ever step of the way with tips on how to handle anxiety… was the difference. I even started to see a therapist before I tested for the fourth time to really help get my anxiety in control. On my fourth attempt, not only did I pass.. but i passed with minimum questions; 85!!!
Yes, content is very important, discipline in studying, and a lot of sacrifices will have to be made along the way… but your attitude towards the exam, your mental health, is NUMBER 1. It wasn’t until I reminded myself that I am so much more than a Nurse that I refused to let anxiety in, that I finally passed. You need to take care of your mental state, i can not stress this enough. Once I started to take control, my session with Timika started to change; the content was coming out of me, and the confidence was there. Timika not only helped me pass my NCLEX, but she also helped me become confident in myself. Giving me tips and tricks to approach questions, and helped me realize how to react when anxiety was knocking. Timika, you have changed my life! Thank you isn’t enough.

A. NCLEX Coach and the gaps I help you identify and close.
It’s not uncommon to experience a loss of confidence and self-trust or even question if nursing is truly for you after not passing your NCLEX exam. I am here to confirm that you know more than you think you know. You are a trained nurse. Here are 7 common issues I’ve seen and helped many nursing graduates transcend:
- Lack of structure and study plan.
- Overall anxiety, including testing anxiety.
- Confusion over what the questions ask them.
- Not giving themselves time to process the question.
- NCLEX prep burnout before the exam.
- Gaps in knowledge and application. Making things harder than they are.
- Lack of self-trust and confidence (changing their minds to the wrong answer).
There are no problems but experiences and opportunities to bring out the best in you.
I work with my clients in the five main areas below.
- I remind nursing graduates of the invaluable nursing knowledge they have.
- I help them create a flexible, individualized, and life-giving study plan.
- I boost self-confidence and trust and share techniques to help clients master their emotions and feelings.
- I bridge the gaps in knowledge and application.
- I help clients break down questions into understandable components.

NCLEX Testimonials
Testimony A:
“My nursing journey has definitely not been easy, and I personally have had many different obstacles that held me back from reaching my goals, such as being a repeat NCLEX test taker! Reaching a point of desperation, I was finally led to Timika and was able to work with her through passing the nclex! Timika has helped me in ways I didn’t even know I needed. She taught me how my test anxiety can truly sway my performance and taught me ways to change the way I think completely, kick anxiety to the side, and refocus my self and frame of mind! We worked hard through every content area of the nclex. We broke down questions and found keywords that led me to answer questions correctly every time! Being able to dissect every area of the NCLEX, doing countless amounts of questions, AND speaking through content have led me to my success and finally passing!! I just want to thank Timika for being calming and so supportive when I didn’t believe in myself!!!

Testimony B.
“Hello Timika,
Thank you! Sorry, I was not available yesterday. I was celebrating with my family :). Thank you for everything that you did for me. You made me more confident in myself, forced me to trust myself, and believed in me. The way you broke down the questions and really focused on what I could pull out of the question to get the answer made the difference. I appreciated all the tips, especially when you told me to use my whiteboard. With my second test, I wrote down the keywords in the question and what the question was really asking. This definitely controlled my anxiety more than anything, and that seriously made all the difference. I cannot thank you enough for the time you spent working with me. I will always remember who guided me to pass my NCLEX, and it was you. I will cherish this forever.
Thank you again,
K. K. BSN RN (because of your help, I can put these letters behind my name)

Testimony E. “Thank you so much, Timika, for your encouragement. The way you made me view questions was what made the difference. I could see you clapping for me, screaming, and telling me to calm down and read the question again. Every day, you send me words of encouragement. Like I always say, you are the best. Thank you, Timika. From the first day you called me, I knew you were all I needed. Thank you.” A.
Testimony C: “I would “like to thank you again for the wonderful opportunity I had to have you as my instructor. Meeting with you was not only beneficial for my studying, it helped me figure out things in my personal life that I knew needed to change but I hadn’t due to procrastination and lack of courage. When it comes down to studying, the study plan we had from the first day we met was perfect. I tried following it as much as possible from the beginning, But whenever I felt short, reading the text messages and emails you would send me randomly was one of the most motivational things for me. They lifted me up and reminded me that problems and reasons to not study our focus would always be there. I just had to push through. We often need a little extra push and don’t even realize it, but your text messages always came in at the right time, even when they were only to remind me to do something for myself. I NEEDED that. I also feel that writing what needed to be done weekly and assigning time to my studies worked amazingly. I wrote down subjects that I didn’t didn’t get wrong during our private sessions and then went back to my nclex book to review them. I believe my preparations prior to my test played a big role in my passing. I did just what you said. I grounded myself and did something fun (a beach day with hubby). That night, we went out and had an amazing time. The very next day, I woke up, had a healthy breakfast, and went to take my test. I kicked anxiety out throughout the whole exam and told her she needed to leave me alone. I used my whiteboard, 2 of them, to be exact. I did 145 questions, but I never doubted my knowledge. I kept doing the questions as we practiced, and the end result was that WE DID IT. I plan to find a job related to mental health, something that I like and feel comfortable with, so that I can go back for my BSN in April 2023. I will always be thankful for meeting you and for the time spent. You’re a one-of-a-kind type of human. I hope you always remain this way. Thank you so much for all you did for me and my family. A. M. R.N.

Many of my clients aren’t stopping at the NCLEX; they are pursuing higher education because they believe that they can.
Many clients have said they want to pursue their master’s after working with me. I received a text message on 3/1/2024 from a client who passed her exam approximately one year ago.
