A Transformational Approach to Goal Setting: Where the Mind Goes, the Body Follows.

Hi there!

Transformation often comes from the inside.  When we identify the thoughts that keep us in bondage, stuck, or not feeling our best, we open a pathway to perfect self-expression. Identify the thoughts that lay behind the areas you feel that you are struggling in.  Until you get to the root of anything, I will continue to grow.  These thought seeds are like weeds that rob your being of its spiritual fruit and, therefore, the memory of who you are. Within the spiritual fruit are the virtues of our divine Creator. His seeds hold our spiritual DNA and the exact person we are to be for this lifetime.

Therefore, when we forget who we are, we forget the work we are here to do. We end up in the wrong careers, jobs, relationships, schools, and other organizations. We don’t properly care for our bodies or even see them as the vessel for the divine spirit. We overeat and undereat. We withhold proper nutrition and follow the crowd.  We add spokes to the generational cycle of pain instead of addressing underlying illusions. We infect others with our harmful thoughts instead of dismantling traditions that don’t serve humanity.

When we know who we are, we desire truth and a relationship with our divine Creator. We seek balance in all that we do, and we love ourselves as God loves us. We seek to create a generational cycle of love by taking the thoughts to assess our individual consciousness because we know individual consciousness leads to collective consciousness. We aim to avoid judging ourselves and others and are more compassionate, for we know that everyone’s earthly curriculum is different, yet with a collective purpose.

Below is a table to use as a guide in clearing your heart and mind and getting to the root of the barriers that keep you stuck in achieving and sustaining optimal health.

ActionQuestions to ask
Lose weightWhat are the thoughts that keep me overweight or at the weight I am at? How do I feel about this body I have? Do I see my body as the vehicle for my life’s work? How do I feel when I am eating food?
Better parentWhat thoughts are directing how I parent?  Is it socialization or tradition? Or both? Why do I feel I must parent this way? Am I parenting out of fear or love?

Instead of setting goals this year, search your heart and mind.  What thoughts do you need to dismantle to align with the highest version of yourself?

Every day, we have an opportunity to align with the highest version of ourselves.

As always make this lifetime great because you still can!

The Seeds We Plant Series #52: Forgiveness and the Cycle of Pain

Hi there,

It’s not common to look to others to break the cycle of pain, to acknowledge what they did or didn’t do to us, apologize for their behavior, or even change their hurtful actions. However, forgiveness, despite acknowledgment, an apology, and a change of heart, is an essential component to breaking the cycle of pain.

We no longer expend unhealthy energy and thoughts. We don’t stay in unproductive states. We know that pain isn’t personal but often a cry for help and a lost soul. Forgiveness involves taking the lessons from experience without the emotional residue of anger, anxiety, confusion, doubt, guilt, resentment, shame, vengeance, and the like. We must take the lessons from the experience, mostly about ourselves, and press forward to do the work we are here to do.

We properly care for our bodies because we know it is the vehicle by which we do our work. We know our lives are not a mistake but an opportunity to make the world a better place. It is through our experiences that we carry out our divine purpose of healing and restoration.

In addition, this new year, 2025, let’s look at the thoughts that keep us from reaching our goals. When we find the underlying beliefs and take positive action, we change how we treat ourselves and others.

Defog Your Brain About Your Environment

Hi there,

In Heart-to-Heart Mondays: Defog Your Mind, I share how we can assess, evaluate, and change our internal and external environment.

When you think of your environment, what comes to mind? It’s so easy to focus on physical barriers and look for external solutions or blame others. But, every experience is to draw you back to yourself. We are here to express the Truth of our being despite our circumstances.

You don’t have to be a statistic. Your internal thermostat can help you see that you are off course and regulate your inner garden. Don’t be fooled into thinking you are strong enough to withstand an unhealthy environment. 1 Corinthians 15:33 reminds us environments play a significant role in creating and sustaining morals. “Do not be deceived; Bad company corrupts good character (NIV Zondervan Study Bible)

Seek divine wisdom to guide you.

Often, when we get to the core of the issue, our external environment begins to change. Discernment is a vital tool in helping us to align with our spiritual nature.

Make this lifetime great because you still can!
