Self-Deception

Good morning,

We fall into an illusive lifestyle when we believe we have no self-control. Part of this earthly journey is realizing that nothing controls us unless we believe it to be so. It isn’t the thing (emotions, feelings, food, exercise, relationships, etc.) that draws us to something, but the perceived inner weakness of the thing that draws us to it.

We do not have a spirit of fear but of love, power, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).

Take back your life.

Make this lifetime great because you still can!

Remember Who You Are Series #17: Presence

Hi there,

Within every experience is information. How we interpret that information will be critical in our daily presence. Living in the past continues the cycle of pain, whereas living in the moment helps us to intervene early and appropriately.

You Deserve to Do the Work You Are Here to Do!

Hi there!

I help candidates for the Registered Nurse National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) transform their mindsets and eliminate the barriers preventing them from passing their exams.

I obtained my BSN from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and an MSN from the University of Missouri Saint Louis. I have over 20 years of varied nursing experience, including teaching Pharmacology and working with all subjects.

Here is one of my many testimonies:

“I had the opportunity to work with Timika after I found out I did not pass my NCLEX exam. While working with her, we were able to go over content I was having a hard time understanding and the way I was answering questions. Previously, I had a hard time answering questions due to a lot of test anxiety and overthinking. Timika helped me by telling me to paraphrase the question, pick keywords out of the question, and think about what it was really asking. As I started using this technique, I would get questions right, and my confidence would build. I did have a few days where I felt like my motivation was low or I would let my anxiety catch up to me. Timika recommended going out and doing something I love to build my confidence and give myself a break. This was something that helped me refocus when I came back to the material because I was out doing something I love. I usually studied for about two hours, would take a break, and come back in the afternoon for another two hours. I would split this by reviewing both content and practice questions. When the test came I was feeling really good, and knew that my confidence level was balancing out my anxiety. I went into the test knowing that I would really take my time. I used my whiteboard as much as I could, and before I knew it I had looked up at the questions and I was already at question 30. I was not focused on what question I was on and was just focused on the question itself. Before I knew it, I was at question 75. I knew that this would be a turning point for me, and I could either keep going or stop here. I finished the question, and the exam ended. I felt very good walking out of the building and found out I passed my exam two days later. Knowing that I accomplished this exam in 75 questions was something I am extremely proud of, and I cannot thank Timika enough for her help. She was so encouraging and supportive during the entire process, and I am so grateful.” M.
