My aim as a writer is to help people remember who they are so that they can do the work they are here to do. I want to present stories that stimulate our minds and hearts and release the truth within us. It’s so easy to get caught up in our circumstances and experiences. We become victims of our emotions and feelings, repeating the same behaviors of the past generations or worse and continuing the cycle of pain. But there is another way. We must raise our consciousness, see behind our traditions and life events, and become the person that we are. Love is where we came from. Love sheds light on the dark places we’ve allowed within us, and in love is where we find our true selves. Writing stories reflecting our truths is a humbling and powerful way to increase global consciousness.

He is determined to secure a spot on his high school basketball team and “play ball.” However, on the day of tryouts, Jack reminds Devin that playing basketball is not the way to leave a family legacy and that “only people with skills are successful.” But, despite the growing opposition to Devin’s basketball goals, Devin earns a starting position on his high school’s basketball team. Unfortunately, Devin’s hard work pays off the same day his mother dies of a fatal blood clot in her lungs.
