What if we treated every event in our lives as a step closer to living our best life-to being our true self? The pain, the loss, anger, and disappointment are to bring you/me closer to being a compassionate and loving being. We could then truly see how resilient we are. We could experience unconditional forgiveness. Could we then see that everyone is on the journey of healing? We are all at different points-not good or bad…just at different points along our journey. 
Being a single mom is to bring us closer.

Being without your biological father or mother is to bring us closer. 

Being abused/neglected is to bring us closer.

Losing a loved one is to bring us closer…

Experiencing love or hate is to bring us closer…..etc. 
How can we take our eyes off the messenger and focus on the message?

Who are you?

Sometimes you may question who you are and if you are on the right track. Assess, plan, act, and evaluate your beliefs, values, and goals on a consistent basis. Do not underestimate the power of positive reinforcement. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals. They are out there. Protect your thoughts and the information that circulates around you. It is okay to listen to the message at times. Do not become the message if the information does not fit you. You got this!

Monday motivation 

Energy and time are wasted when we compare ourselves with others. Others have not traveled the road you have traveled. You have your own unique lesson to learn and homework in the school of life. If we focus on being our best and living our life, the need to be like others diminish. We are no longer stagnant, and we begin to appreciate our life and what it has to offer. Be you.

Communicate and breathe

We help our relationships when we share parts of ourselves. Knowledge will not travel by osmosis, and we must not expect people to know what we do not tell them. 

What can you share today that needs to be released and may release somebody? How can you share it in a loving way? In a way that builds instead of destroys? 

Here are some tips:

1. Look in the mirror first. Ask what you have contributed to the experience. This is a bold step and a necessary step for growth. 

2. Think about what you want to say…maybe even write it down.

3. Agree on a time to talk.

4. Listen to the words and be mindful of body motions. You can miss out on what you need to grow. 

5. Never force someone to continue to talk if they do not want to talk.

6. Start convo with “I” statements. I feel like this when this happens. Take responsibility for your emotions. You choose your thoughts and actions, not the other person. 

7. Be grateful for any steps made in a positive direction of growth.  We are not to be bitter as a result of our experiences. We are to grow and be better.
