A Reminder: The Power Of Belief

This past Wednesday, a conversation with my husband reminded me of something I heard from reading and watching The Secret.

During my teens, I decided I wanted to have a family of my own. But, in my 20’s I wondered if bringing children into what I thought was a violent world was something I wanted to do. So, I concluded that it would be better to adopt and take care of the children already here. But then, I realized I was letting fear rob me of something that resided deep within my heart. Although I experienced some potentially traumatic experiences, I had great teachers and built a foundation on great principles. Then, instead of fearing what the world could do to my children, I felt empowered and inspired to raise children who could help make the world a better place.

Then, I heard about the Secret. And, I decided to try something. So, first, for almost every meal, I’d set the table for four, the curly head boy and girl and the brown and green-eyed hubby I wanted. Next, I reconnected with my college sweetheart, now husband. And, I continued to use affirmations, imaginations, and prayer to live the life I desired.

My husband and I have been married for over 12 years, and we have a curly head boy and a girl. During our recent Wednesday morning conversation, I wondered if my husband knew why I set the table for four. So, I said, “I don’t know if you knew this, but the reason why I set my table for four was part of designing my life the way I wanted it to be.” Then, my husband (brown and green-eyed and less than five years older than me) said, “I thought that was just the way you set your table. No, I told him, “ it was my way of telling the universe what I wanted.”

As a girl, I believed in miracles and a Higher Spirit. Today, after a few dark valleys, I’m coming full circle to this belief that nothing is impossible for those who believe (Mark 9:23). Although my journey has been one of many clear paths and several dark valleys, hills, and steep mountains, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt what I believe plays a role in what I experience. Every so often, when I feel like I am in a rut, I need to remind myself of unlimited possibilities.

Nothing remains as it is. But, there is always a way to achieve something.”Š”””ŠHope circulates even when I don’t see how to achieve my heart’s desires with my eyes or when my belief is the size of a mustard seed. Alignment with Nature is believing and expecting an abundant harvest. The great thing is all of us (spirits) want the same results but in different ways (personalities).

What I ask you, I ask myself. So, I ask you what life do you want? Are your day-to-day actions in alignment with your heart’s desires? What can you do today to move to the life you want?

Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”Š””””ŠAlbert Einstein.

How often do you overlook that regardless of what you’ve experienced, you are still here? One of the reasons we continue to wake up each morning is because we have work to do. No experience identifies us. Our life circumstances can awaken us to the often dormant powers within us.

Keep rising every day, knowing that you have everything you need to meet your growth opportunities and become the best You.

In today’s podcast, I share when I first heard the word resiliency and how you, too have access to this superpower.

Storms are an opportunity to gain clarity about our experiences. We can choose to see them from a healthier, more grounded perspective.2. Persistent negative habits can slowly work against us from the inside out. An inner decline often begins long before anything becomes visible on the outside.3.
