The Seeds We Plant #17 Series: Unity

Hi there!

I hope all is well with you and yours! I was on my way out to the Y and felt an overwhelming desire to share my thoughts about unity. We see so much disunity in the world. Unity is a conversation worth having with our children and ourselves.

Listen to The Seeds We Plant Series #17, Unity on Create a Generational Love Cycle. How do you define unity? Is it one group of people or humanity as a whole? What are you teaching your child at home about the virtue of unity?

Remember Who You Are Series #12: Refuse to Be Less Than Who You Are.

Hi there,

My mother often told us that someone will give you an identity if you don’t know who you are. Labels can illuminate you or continue to hide who you really are. What we believe about ourselves directs our paths. We can fall into unnecessary potholes and take detours that bring out the worst in us instead of the best. In every circumstance, you must choose how you will perceive the data from your experiences. Will you incorporate it in your data bank (nervous system to your brain and heart), or will you choose not to use it?

Listen to Remember Who You Are Series #12, Refuse to Be Less Than Who You Are, and let me know your thoughts.

The Seeds We Plant Series #16: Unity and Schools

Hi there!

Schools are not exempt from the projection of pain unto others. Beyond titles are humans who must learn self-mastery like all human beings. Like many experiences, children can still learn about love, fear, and hate. Although we can’t be there to guide our children through their experiences, we can focus on building and strengthening their foundation (character) to help them transcend their experiences.

We (as parents and role models) can share life-giving and sustaining principles. We can read empowering books about people who overcame certain injustices and devotionals aimed to reinforce that our children’s lives have meaning. We ensure accurate, consistent, reliable, relevant, and timely communication with our children’s schools. We address concerns immediately and create a relationship with our children that fosters life-giving and sustaining communication. In addition, we make our children aware of behavior and thoughts they’ve picked up from others.

Children need to know they have voices and can use them. Children with confident, healing, and powerful voices become adults with confident, healing, and powerful voices. In addition, children must know that the environment doesn’t need to change them for the worse but is an opportunity to do what’s right and reflect the divine entity within them.

Our children must know that we (parents) are for the truth, not to confirm their actions but to honor what is right. We must show our children how to advocate for themselves. No matter their age, they deserve respect.
