Taking Care of My Temple

After my second child, I had gained over 50 pounds. I knew that I could not use my pregnancy as an excuse. I also knew that the more weight I gained, the harder it would be for me to lose the weight.

The changes to my sustained health and weight started within my mind. I had to let go of some potentially harmful thoughts such as being able to eat whatever I wanted and just “work it off.”

Although I aim to eat several servings of fruits and vegetables daily, I still enjoy some of my favorite foods in moderation.

Taking care of my temple is more than just eating right. I have learned the importance of my mental and spiritual well-being. Unless my thoughts are of health, my actions will not be. I believe that my body is the vehicle for my divine message. Every part of me was handcrafted to perfection to fulfill my purpose.

I know that there are plenty of guides out there to help me take care of my body. However, I am with my body 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. My body and mind speak to me, and it is up to me to listen. I am fully capable of doing so.

Make this lifetime great!
