Echo: that inner voice
learn-to-listen.org.uk
When do you spend time with yourself and reflect on who you are, what you did, and how could you have done today’s activities better? Do you make time to listen to the echo of your soul to avoid costly mistakes or regrets?
It is so easy to get caught up in the day and later wonder “okay, what did I do today, where did the time go, and is it really time for bed now?”
To have balance and keep my sanity, I must make time for myself and listen to that inner voice. When I listen to that inner voice, I tend to complete activities with ease-conversations with others are much better and I say what I mean instead of trying to please others, I get the parking spot I wanted, the food I cooked taste so much better, etc.
So, I have been trying to meditate, on a consistent basis, at least 2x a day-early morning and right before bed after putting the kids to bed. It is wonderful how my thinking is clearer and how answers to questions/concerns come to me with ease when I take the time to be quiet and listen. When I listen to the voice within, I am in the zone, and being in the zone or at one with the universe, is a great feeling.
If we are always occupied with activities or always in the company of others, can we truly get to know who we are and how to best use our body and our mind?
