Be Aware of Transference

After posting the image you see, I realized I added a question to the statement. But when I looked at the statement, I realized how necessary the question mark is, especially with recent events. How we treat others says more about our state of being than it does about the other person. For example, can we truly say people make us angry? Or, are we responding to pent-up emotions that want our attention?
When we curse, hit, kick, refuse to help, scream, yell, and others, we project our emotions and feelings on others. Instead of going outward, we serve ourselves better by going inward. Transference is like a bandaid that keeps falling off, revealing our unhealed wounds.
Throughout my earthly journey, I’ve allowed my emotions and feelings to get the best of me. But, the more I read the Bible, the more I see we have the answers to overcoming life experiences and what can happen if we choose not to align ourselves to Truth.
For example, Scripture informs us, “the one who knows uses words with restraint and whoever has understanding is even-tempered” (Proverbs 17:22).
As we have seen, unassessed and unmanaged emotions (anger, envy, guilt) can lead to destructive actions, feeding the world’s cycle of pain and darkness. “Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret — -it leads only to evil” (Psalm 37:16).
As we have also heard and seen, chronic stress (emotional, mental, physical, social, and spiritual) leads to chronic health conditions and sometimes death. But, “a heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones” (Proverbs 14:30). In addition, chronic stress impairs the body’s ability to fight off bacterial and viral invaders.
Your best health is probably a thought away from addressing unhealed wounds. You don’t have to suffer from unhealed wounds. The way to becoming more conscious of actions is by taking time to become more aware of your actions. The busier we are, the more our emotions and feelings pile up in us. Take time now to assess your daily actions by sitting quietly and ask are your actions are in alignment with someone who is happy and wants joy, peace, and experience Love.
Make this moment and this lifetime great!
