Starting Early With Positive Thinking

The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale

We are making our way through our second book, and the first of #2021, The Power of Positive Thinking, in our Homeschooling program. I am loving the opportunity to add character-building principles and help our children see that their life has a purpose. I feel so blessed to hear their insights and to witness their reading progression.

Neither children have yet to complain about the book, such as it not being a “children’s book” or how they don’t know some of the words. We encourage their growth in learning new words by saying “sound it out” and giving them a little time to do so. We praise them for trying and successfully pronouncing words.

I chose to not limit their growth or put them in a tight-fitting box. I pay attention to their cues and my intuition and adjust their studies accordingly. I often pray that I am making the most of our homeschooling opportunity.

I have some great authors and books lined up for us, and I look forward to confirming, learning, and readjusting my foundation with them. I feel like I am not successful if my children are not successful.

Today was also another opportunity to go with the flow. Today, I was trying to find a video about Harriet Tubman, and Cayla saw an animated movie about her. I was hesitant to show it because it was 27 minutes, but Cayla and Cam watched the video as if it was an FGteev program.

Although sometimes I feel stretched in multiple places, I feel that we are all growing.
